Amsterdam, July 04, 2011
With large institutional investors from Switzerland, Scandinavia and the USA stepping in during the last few weeks, Holland Private Equity (“HPE”) held its final close on June 29, 2011. In the past 18 months HPE has raised more than EUR 150 million and surpassed its targeted fund size.

Since January 2010, HPE is backed by APG through the seeding platform IMQubator (IMQ). IMQ is the cornerstone investor of HPE with EUR 25 million. The other investors in HPE are institutional investors from Europe and the USA. HPE invests growth capital in small and medium sized (SME) technology companies in the Benelux and Germany. These companies have typically EUR 20 million turnover, a good management team and the ambition to grow to more than EUR 100 million
turnover.

HPE provides EUR 10-15 million per company (equity only, no leverage) as expansion capital, as well as the expertise to facilitate this growth. HPE has a team of 14 professionals and operational advisors to assist the management teams closely with growth related issues. In return HPE acquires a significant minority stake (typically 20- 40%) to become the largest outside shareholder in the company. HPE has invested in Airborne (www.airborneinternational.com) in The Netherlands to facilitate its growth in flexible composite pipes for the offshore oil & gas industry. HPE has also invested in SFC Energy (www.sfc.com) in Germany to enable its international expansion.

Amsterdam based Valery Capital and London based Denos Partners both acted as placement agents to HPE, Amsterdam based law firm Stibbe acted as legal advisor. HPE has its head office in Amsterdam in the APG Tower and a rep office in Düsseldorf.
