HPE holds Interim Closing at EUR 77 million and Closes First Investment

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, August 16, 2010 – Holland Private Equity (“HPE”) executed an Interim Closing this summer at EUR 77m (USD 100m). The HPE PRO Institutional Fund has attracted several new international institutional investors and family offices.

Earlier this year on January 1, 2010, HPE held its first closing of the HPE PRO Institutional Fund with its cornerstone investor IMQubator, an emerging manager seeding fund backed by APG. In addition, HPE is at present in the due diligence phase with other institutional investors in view of the Fund’s Final Closing later this year.
HPE PRO Institutional Fund has a target size of EUR 150 million and aims to invest in small to mid-cap technology growth companies in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Simultaneously with the Interim Closing, HPE also announces its first investment in Airborne International B.V., a Netherlands based firm which is leading in the industrialization of composite materials for, amongst others, the Aerospace and Oil & Gas industries. The EUR 9 million investment will allow Airborne to accelerate its growth in the Oil & Gas sector and scale up its production of composite tubulars.

Hans van Ierland, Chief Executive Officer of HPE, commented: “With this interim closing HPE has made an important step towards reaching our target size later this year. We are pleased to welcome several well-reputed international institutions who recognize the Fund’s uniqueness and join our list of backers. Furthermore, our first investment in Airborne International validates our investment approach, with several other deals currently in execution in our pipeline.”
